The mission of the Fairy Tales Collection web
site is to make its resources available and useful to the readers.
Through its Web sites, FTC is offering broad public access to a wide
range of information, including historical materials. Such materials
must be viewed in the context of the relevant time period.

For site security and to ensure that this service
remains available to all users, this computer system employs
software programs to monitor network traffic to identify

For site management, this computer system uses
software programs to create summary statistics that are used for
such purposes as assessing what information is of most or least
interest, determining technical design specifications, and
identifying system performance areas. FTC collects and stores
the following information:
- The name of the domain from which you access
the Internet
- The date and time you access our site
- The pages you peruse and files you access
- The Internet address of the Web site from
which you linked directly to our site
If you choose to provide us with personal
information, as in an e-mail message, FTC will use this information
to respond to your request. There are times when your e-mail is
forwarded within the cooperative to individuals who are better able
to assist you. FTC may also forward requests for assistance to
another appropriate institution for response. Except for the
foregoing exceptions and for authorized law enforcement activities,
the Library does not share e-mail with outside organizations without
obtaining your permission.
"Cookies" are small bits of text (letters and
numbers) that are either used for the duration of a session, or
saved on a user's computer in a file named "cookies.txt" in order to
identify that user (or information about that user) the next time
they log on to a Web site. It is FTC's general policy not to use
cookies on its Web site.
